The Shortis Library was fortunate to host George Ivanoff, a Melbourne author who has written more than 100 books for kids and teens, a number of which have been nominated or won awards.
George took participants through a range of techniques about world building, researching, character creation and storyline formation including how to plot interactive ‘choose your own’ stories.
Students’ thoughts:
“I learnt that it is important to put obstacles in a story, but equally as important to ensure that they do not slow the story too much”
“I think what worked well was when George was explaining how to make a character or how to build a world…how everything is connected”
