Vocational Education and Training (VET)

VET programs are nationally recognised vocational certificate which can provide the basis for further study in the vocational education sector or direct entry into apprenticeships and employment.

Units completed in approved VET programs are credited to a student’s VCE or VCAL program and in most cases will contribute to a student’s ATAR score. Whitefriars College offers two VET programs on campus (Sport and Recreation), however more courses are available through the College’s partnership with accredited TAFE institutions and through our established cluster arrangements with nearby schools. The Certificate III in Sport and Recreation is a popular program for our Year 11 and 12 students who are interested in discovering more about the sport, fitness and recreation industries and learning skills applicable to employment in these areas.

Popular off-campus VET options for Whitefriars College students include Building & Construction, Electrotechnology, Plumbing, Hospitality, Furniture, Equine Studies, Automotive and more.
