On Saturday 17 August, a group from the Class of 2023 came together to organise a special fundraising event in honor of a dear friend. Many of these students have always had a passion for attending live music events, and with the tragic passing of Nadine Fraser from breast cancer, they were motivated to turn their love of music into a force for good. They wanted to show support for Archie Fraser, a fellow member of the Class of 2023 and Nadine’s son, by raising funds in her memory.
Determined to make a difference, Tom Harman, William Stapelfeldt and Oscar Murphy teamed up to form a committee with a clear goal: to raise as much money as possible for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. They reached out to a network of friends and DJs—many of whom are emerging talents in the local scene—and asked them to contribute their time and skills for the night. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with several rising stars agreeing to perform without charge to support the cause.
The event, named ‘Resurgence,’ was a huge success. A total of 350 tickets were sold, and the atmosphere was electric as friends gathered to enjoy great music while supporting an important cause. Thanks to the collective efforts of everyone involved, the night raised a remarkable $5,919, all of which will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The event not only brought people together for a night of fun but also left a lasting impact by contributing to the fight against breast cancer.
