Mrs Haddrell’s year 11 VCAL class worked in the garden last week to prepare for their Term 2 Garden Project. The students pulled out the silver beet, flowers and parsley for the staff to take home. These veggies were from the Year 7 Care for Creation project the year before. Lettuce seeds were collected for next year’s crop. Mrs Ciavarella guided the boys on what was green waste, what could be given to the chooks and what could be offered to staff. She also explained that it was time to nourish the soil and give back what it had given. Compost, water and rest over the holidays should prepare the beds for a winter crop.
